Pretty Lady

May 08, 2015

One of the truly beautiful and endearing things about Sydney is her harbour. Many would argue it's what makes Sydney the place that it is. Ask any non-local to name a feature of Sydneytown and I'm confident most would say "the Harbour Bridge" or "the Opera House". We all know where these landmarks are located... on that stunning harbour.

These shots were taken on a day following a week of inclement weather. A week where Sydney had been battered by a powerful east coast low that had blown in off the ocean. I couldn't get over how clean and clear everything appeared that morning. How still it was. The harbour resembled a lake more than a tidal water and the rain had given everything a much needed rinse. The city glistened two fold, reflected in the dead calm water that makes her what she is.

A very pretty lady.

Hometown

April 10, 2015

I'm a Canberran. A native of the capital of Australia. Canberra. That's right.

Proud? I like to think so. I moved from "home" a few years ago, looking for a change. For something different. Indeed, I have found that change, in place and self, but like to return to my stomping ground every now and then, re-connect with what I left behind. Photography has changed the way I view my birthplace. I see it through fresh eyes. Or eye, if I'm looking through the viewfinder. Once bored, grey, stuck, comfy, still. Before.

Now. Space. Quiet. Beauty. Design. Serene. Proud.
